The Series 49 is a commercial, cast-iron, gas-fired steam boiler with a thermal efficiency rating of 81%. The Series 49 is designed for use with a conventional chimney. The boiler is packaged with an electronic ignition system for use with natural gas. The Series 49 is available in 6 sizes, with firing rates from 299 to 550 MBH.
The Series 49 is designed with wide internal waterways for an increased steam chest to promote a stable water line. With no heat transfer pins above the water line, the Series 49 offers greater resistance to corrosion in this critical area. Steam riser tappings are located in the intermediate sections to promote a smoother steam flow and a tapping on both end sections allows for the return to be piped on the right or the left.
The Series 49 is shipped as a knock-down boiler with the boiler sections, base, and flue collector, jacket and controls all shipped separately; final assembly is then easily completed in the field.
