TS-14: Hot Water Takes too long to heat up (Combi Only)

When the hot water faucet is turned on does boiler start almost immedietly?

#B7

In the “DHW” menu is the High Limit Setpoint set to 180F?

#G7

In the Central Heat menu is the High Limit set to 180F?

#M7

On the Status Screen, does the boiler get to 100% rate?

#R7

Has this been in or Is this a new satrt-up?

#Y7

Boiler fired with natural gas or LP gas.

#Y13

Lock the boiler into high fire in the “Manual Modulation” menu. Clock the meter to verify the boiler is inputing proper btu’s. Does the boiler rate match input?

#Y20

Set the High Limit to 180F

#M13

Set High Limit to 180F

#G13

Replace flow switch

#G20

On the Status screen do you see a small blinking triangle toward the end of the boiler firing and shutting off on temperature?

#R13

When the triangle is flashing before the boiler shuts down press the triangle. What is the message displayed when you press it?

#R20

The boiler may require cleaning. A dirty boiler will have reduced input due to restricting air flow through the boiler. Clean boiler and re-check.

#Y29

Is the faucet moving at least 1/2 gpm?

#B17

Water pressure should be above 30 PSI

#B24

If possible turn water pressure up.

#B30

Check incoming gas pressure on high fire and verify it is above the minimum gas pressure on the rating label.

#AD13

Adjust gas pressures to spec.

#AD20

Is the gpm flow from the faucet within spec?
PHNTMC-150…..3.7 gpm
PHNTMC-180…..4.4 gpm
PHNTMC-135….3.0 gpm

#AI7

Install a flow restrictor or pressure reducing valve to meet spec. Problem resolve?

#AI15

Is the water temperature coming out of the mixing valve meet the temperature setting?

#AI23

Is the mixing valve set to a minimum of 120f?

#AN7

Turn the mixing valve to a minimum of 120f. Did the problem resolve?

#AN13

Move the mixing valve setting up and down a few times. Did this resolve the problem?

#AN20

Is this problem only at one faucet or one bathroom?

#AN27

Is the temperature of the water leaving the mixing valve near the same temperature at the problem area?

#AN34

Cold water is mixing into the hot water system somewhere between the mixing valve and the problem area. It could be at a washer machine or a different single handle faucet.

#AN43

Wait for the boiler water temperature to rise to 160f or higher. Is the water exiting the flat plate heat exchanger ansd entering the mixing valve hot port very hot?

#AS7

Call Tech Services

#AS16

Clean or replace the flat plate heat exchanger.

#AS20

Turn up the mixing valve
