Is the Sage Zone Control (SZC) used for circulators or zone valves?
Return to the Main Menu and click on “Boiler Does Not Ignite or Lights and Goes Out Immediately”
Replace Sage Zone Control
Call tech services.
Determine why there is no voltage to L1 & L2 and make repairs. Caution: make sure the voltage to the Sage Zone Control is the same circuit the boiler is on.
Check 120Vac input voltage fuse #6 from left to right for continuity. Do you have continuity?
Turn up a thermostat or multiple thermostats.
Possible loss of communication between the SZC and the boiler. Press the status button, scroll to the right about 4 screens, do you see a screen that is headed with” Zone Control Status”. Is that display available?
Place a jumper between the thermostat connections for the zone terminals R & W. Did the light come on?
Possible defective cat-5 cable. If you have a new cat-5 cable replace the cable. If not you can wire the 3 envirocom terminals in the control to the boiler envirocom terminals on the Low Voltage Board on the boiler. Wire terminals 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3. Did the display show up in the Staut menu? It may take a minute or two.
Replace SZC.
Cat-5 cable was bad. Problem is resolved.
Press the status button on the display. About 3/4 of the way down on the display is Priority. It should display Central heat in a few seconds. The very bottom line should be sequencing through the start up process with a counter. When the boiler displays direct ignition the boiler should fire and then display running. Did the boiler turn on and fire?
Zone panel is working as designed.
Using an electrical meter check voltage across the circulator terminals for the zone(s) not operating. You should read 110 – 130Vac. Do you have the proper voltage?
Did the Status screen Priority label show Central Heat or Domestic How Water if the demand Is on zone 4 and set to priority?
Zone panel working correctly. If boiler does not light this is a boiler issue. Go to main menu and choose Boiler does not light or lights or lights and goes out immediately.
Replace circulator
Check or replace the wire from the zone panel to the circulator.
Replace fuse.
Remove the fuse for the appropriate zone(s). Check continuity through fuse. Does the fuse have continuity?
